In Holguín, you don’t need to go far for a taste of authentic Cuban life. Catamarans are waiting in the port to whisk you away to the very best snorkeling spots and Jeeps are always ready to lead you into the jungles of Cuba’s most adrenaline-filled destination. The water in Holguín is really blue, the sand white and the rum is as delicious as people say.  It’s hard to understand why Christopher Columbus, who first set foot in Holguín province in October 1492, ever left this place. Maslenitsa also known as Butter Week or Crêpe week, is an Eastern Slavic religious and folk holiday, celebrated during the last week before Great Lent. Perhaps the most cheerful holiday in Russia. This holiday is considered to come from pre-Christian times, when the Slavs were still pagans.

You don’t need to find a beach to beat the winter blues. There’s an invigorating, rosy-cheek feeling that comes from a day out among fresh air and snow—followed by something hot to drink. The mountains are a remote escape from humanity, a place to be alone and soak up the sunrise, the sunset or just the sun’s rays. Introvert Heaven. Continue reading

Christmas is coming. Every year, everyone celebrates this special holiday season. This is not just for kids, but also for the whole family. It is the time for love, happiness and forgiveness. I love Christmas. Decorating the tree. Picking out special gifts to give to my loved ones. Listening to holiday themed songs on the radio. Watching heart warming films such as ”Home Alone”, ”It’s a Wonderful Life” and cartoons like ”Frosty the Snowman”. I love the twinkling lights. The celebration of Christmas makes me happy. Boston is one of the US’ most beautiful cities. It is, indeed, the “city on a hill” as its Puritan forefathers proclaimed it. It’s a beautiful gem, with museums, colleges, and even the headquarters of the Christian Science and Unitarian Universality churches. Boston captures the essence of New England – a region located in the northeast corner of the USA, made up of six diverse U.S. states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The region is bounded to the north by Canada, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by Long Island Sound, and to the west by the state of New York. There are rivers and lakes, towering forests, mountain ranges with hiking and skiing trails, pastoral farmland and countryside, and dramatic rocky coastline and soft, sandy beaches. Continue reading

Canada is a land filled with fascinating places and amazing adventures. Being a Canadian means enjoying every single part of this country! You will never find such an amazing and wild beauty as here in Canada! The time between mid-September till the end of October is where Tremblant is most breathtaking.  The trees are beaming with great colors and the air smells great.

Mont Tremblant is our destionation for today. With its six great rivers and 400 lakes and streams, Parc national du Mont-Tremblant is a canoer’s paradise. It’s a rich amalgam of Québec’s natural and historic heritages, being the largest and oldest park in the network. This wilderness is so vast that it is home to 40 mammal species, including the wolf. There is also the Via ferrata du Diable, an intermediate activity between hiking and climbing that will let you discover the park’s mountains in a way you could otherwise only dream about. Chicago — Stunning. Iconic. Wondrous. It will capture your heart. You will never get tired of the skyscrapers downtown. My eyes still widen as I soak in icons like the Tribune Tower and Wrigley Building. These aren’t just functional boxes holding offices and people. There is beauty all around. This city is bustling and yet it retains a feeling of airiness as it gleams in the sun. Continue reading

Gaspésie Journey – Day 2

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

A hiking hotspot, Parc national de la Gaspésie gives visitors access to an extraordinary mountain environment. The Chic-Chocs and McGerrigle Mountains cross the park. Among them, Mont Jacques Cartier is the second highest peak in Québec. The altitude of these mountains deeply influences the climate that moulds the landscape and creates a diversity of species unique to Québec and even the world. Arctic-alpine plants and tundra landscapes form a habitat for a herd of woodland caribou, the last representatives of this species south of the St. Lawrence. Continue reading
