When the temperatures drop, the star of the layering game is, of course, knitwear. But while jumpers and cardigans may be seen as a cold weather essential, that doesn’t mean it’s relegated to the world of boring practicality.
When it comes to knitwear trends, its always a mix of revival of classics and innovative takes. This year, preppy aesthetics seems to be dominating, and with the cold weather approaching, now is the perfect time to refresh your knitwear collection.
Oversized knitwear seems to always be in vogue, but this season I spotted more designers adapting their knitwear to the Fifties-inspired, cinched waist silhouette. This sculptural silhouette for a cardigan, as shown on the Miu Miu runway, feels both fresh and timeless.
I found mine in Zara, and it feels both warm and cozy, yet stylish. Pairing it with the knit dress, little heels and suede bag in trendy chocolate colour makes my look even more charming.
