Whether it’s the neat and structured jacket in a sharp suit, or an oversized silhouette (which, in my opinion, is best worn with leggings), the blazer has transcended its origins as a symbol of formality to become one of the most essential and multifaceted wardrobe staples of all time.
After years of swaddling and sizing up, this season, the big and boxy blazer could very well be eclipsed by the nipped, cinched-waist blazer. In 2025, the blazer continues to evolve, with designers reimagining this classic piece through innovative cuts, textures, and styling.
The hourglass silhouette followed the boxy wartime cuts for women (not unlike the popular styles of the previous years); fashion is a pendulum, and it was a matter of time before it swung in the other direction.
