There’s something about the silk and lace combo that just feels so right this season. I’ve always had a soft spot for silk – the way it moves, the way it feels on the skin, the effortless elegance it brings to even the simplest silhouette.

But this summer, I’ve completely fallen for the way lace is being used to frame and contrast those silk pieces – it’s delicate, romantic, and adds just the right amount of structure.
From slinky slip dresses to camisoles and midi skirts, I’ve added a few pieces to my wardrobe that perfectly balance that softness of silk with the slightly bolder edge of lace. Often in a contrasting colour, the lace gives depth and definition to otherwise fluid pieces – a detail I’ve come to really appreciate, especially when I want to dress up without trying too hard.
