Yves Saint Laurent famously dressed women in suits during the 1960s, forever associating the house with the silhouette.

The brand described the suiting as fluid, and it was, with long double-breasted blazers and pleated trousers that moved without a hint of stiffness. Shoulders were broad and came to dramatic points, ties were wide, and sleeves were pushed up under trench coats and rounded leather bombers.

For me, spring is one of the most enjoyable times of year to shop, and it always feels like a great moment to make a few key investments.
And in terms of outfitting potential, spring and autumn are fashion’s favourite seasons for a reason: they allow us to flex our styling muscles by layering lightweight jackets, delicate knits and trending trousers, but without the cold-weather necessities of warmth and comfort.
It’s all about lighter fabrics, bare ankles and fresh looks.

Suits and ties have been bubbling away as a trend for several seasons now, but it was arguably the stellar spring/summer 2025 Saint Laurent collection Anthony Vaccarello showed back in September that really put “boyish” tailoring on our radars. The image of models sauntering the runway in a black, double-breasted wool suits, white shirt, black wide tie and tinted shades became one of the most-shared from the season and bumped Saint Laurent tailoring to the top of my wish list.

Today, the look I’m wearing is inspired by the latest collection of Saint-Laurent. The thrifted leather jacket with the ‘90s cut, white shirt from bf’s wardrobe and his tie is the key for this look. Classy Bermuda shorts and little charming bag YSL complete this look.
