There isn’t really a wrong way to wear a trench—in fact that’s one of the best parts about it. Still, finding a flattering length is key so that you don’t get swallowed up by the silhouette.
Keep the classic trench coat medium length, fitted but not too fitted, and in a neutral colour that’s either contrasting or exactly matching the colour of what’s underneath.
The best part about a trench is that it’s cinched at the waist. Sure you can wear it open, and if you plan on wearing it that way, I just recommend wearing more fitted items underneath to show off your shape. But when you close it up and belt it, it’s the most flattering jacket there is.
